Launch x Give a Jack presents Vedo, Guordan Banks, Makaila + Special Guests

Nov 22-7:00 pm-11:00 pm

You are invited to the inaugural Give A Jack concert series, powered by Launch and Jack Daniels, live at Stage 48 in New York City, featuring Vedo, Guordan Banks, Makaila + special guests.

American R&B singer/songwriter VEDO has a smooth, romantic style reminiscent of Usher, who acted as his coach on the fourth season of NBC's The Voice. His first album, 93, followed in 2015.

A native of Benton Harbor, Michigan, VEDO began singing at the age of nine. After a transient childhood, he settled in Atlanta for high school, a period during which he worked at honing his singing and songwriting skills. He first rose to public attention in 2013 on the strength of his performances on the TV singing competition The Voice. After his Top 12 finish, he signed with indie label Platinum Power Moves and recorded his debut LP, 93. It saw release in 2015.

In 2016, VEDO followed up with the State of Mind EP before issuing his second full-length, From Now On, a year later. He returned with an eponymous album in 2019.

Philadelphia native Guordan Banks is a songwriter and contemporary R&B balladeer with a smooth, mildly raspy delivery honed from years singing in church choir. While pursuing a career as a lawyer, Banks switched his focus to music. Early single "One Day" echoed the style of John Legend, an artist Banks would later work with. His mood-diverse debut EP/mixtape, A Song for Everyone, appeared in 2014 and featured performances by Ayo and rappers Meek Mill, Omelly, and Wale. It was released on Mill's Dream Chasers Records. In addition to his own material, he penned tracks for Keyshia Cole ("Trust and Believe") and John Legend ("Who Do We Think We Are"), and contributed to Meek Mill and Jadakiss' "Heaven or Hell." Working independently via his label, Bank on It Entertainment, Banks released the singles "Leanin' On," "We Might Die," and "Keep You in Mind" in 2015. "#WYWDT (Where You Wanna Do This?)" with DeJ Loaf was issued in 2016, along with the tropical-dance "Revolution," featuring E.C. Twins. Leading up to his 2017 debut LP release, Banks released "Hug" with Omari Hardwick, "Crossover," and "Baby Girl."

Born in Duvall County Florida, Makaila has never let anything box her in. Being the child of two dancers, she has expressed herself through music since an early age.

Now 21, Makaila has evolved in her own space of not only self-acceptance, but true empowerment as a queer woman of color. The freedom of her personality is reflected in the versatility of her music. After catching the ear of music executive Tricky Stewart on instagram, Makaila has embraced a bold sound & perspective, combining smooth vocals with the bravado & flow to match any top rapper.

Whether highlighting her dominant side, or flexing her falsetto, Makaila’s raw energy and authentic self always shines through.
